Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is an evergreen shrub, originally from the Mediterranean region. Belonging to the mint family (Lamiaceae), it is characterized by needle-like leaves, small blue flowers, and woody stems.

In the magical relm, rosemary is associated with protection, purification, and love, often used in rituals to ward off negativity, enhance memory, and promote spiritual growth. In folklore, it was believed to protect against evil spirits and bring good luck when hung around homes or worn as an amulet.

Medicinally, rosemary contains rosmarinic acid with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, traditionally used to alleviate headaches, improve digestion, and relieve muscle pain. It is also reputed to enhance cognitive function and memory, earning it the moniker "herb of remembrance." Aromatherapy applications of rosemary include stress relief and relaxation.

Rosemary was revered by ancient Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians for its sacred and healing properties, and in medieval Europe, it symbolized fidelity and remembrance in weddings and funerals. During the Renaissance, it was believed to stimulate the mind and inspire creativity.
