Larvikite is fairly new to most crystal lovers however, Larvikite has a long history and has been mined in Norway since 1884 and has been used historically in architecture.

Larvikite is an igneous Rock, specifically a variety of monzonite, notable for the presence of labradorescent crystals of feldspar. The name originates from the town of Larvik in Norway, where this type of igneous rock is found.
