There are some differences between Dendritic Agate, Dendritic Jasper, and Dendritic Opal, primarily in terms of their mineral composition and appearance:

Dendritic Agate:
    • Is a type of chalcedony, which is a variety of quartz. It contains inclusions of manganese or iron oxides that form the distinctive dendritic, tree-like patterns.
    • It is usually translucent to semi-translucent and often has a white, grey, or translucent background. The dendritic inclusions are typically black or dark brown. The patterns can be intricate and resemble branches, trees, or ferns.

    Dendritic Jasper:
      • Dendritic jasper is also a type of chalcedony, similar to dendritic agate, and it contains inclusions of iron or manganese oxides. However, dendritic jasper is specifically named for its jasper base material.

      • Dendritic jasper often has a red, brown, or earthy-coloured background with dark, dendritic inclusions. The patterns can resemble trees, plants, or landscapes.

      Dendritic Opal:

      • Dendritic opal, on the other hand, is a variety of common opal. It contains similar dendritic inclusions of manganese or iron oxides, but its base material is opal, which can be colourless or milky white
      • Dendritic opal features a translucent to opaque background with black or brown dendritic patterns, creating a striking contrast. The patterns often resemble branches, moss, or ferns.
